Whether eaten in yogurt or in mouth-watering muffins, flaxseed is a truly remarkable food. You too benefit from its nutritional values.

Brown flax, not to be confused with golden flax, is a fairly common plant. This pretty herbaceous plant has fairly typical small blue flowers, which are found on erect stems. Although the plant is also used for its textile fibers, it is for its seed that it is used here. Their high fiber content is obviously interesting from a gastronomic point of view. Thus, flaxseed is used in biscuits with a slightly nutty flavor, in different sweet and savory recipes.

Brown flax seeds contain many nutrients. They are very rich in fiber and make an excellent source of plant-based protein.

Usage tips :

Flax seeds are used in many recipes. They can be used in multiple preparations, sauces, salads, dishes, desserts, breads, pastries, etc.

It is advisable to eat crushed flaxseeds or ground flaxseeds to facilitate absorption. They can be used in various preparations. To grind or crush seeds, there are several solutions. You can use a spice grinder for small seeds, a coffee grinder for larger ones, or even a pestle and mortar. You can sprinkle many of your dishes with a teaspoon of whole flax seeds, raw vegetables, salads, meats or vegetables. Ground seeds can be used in fruity smoothies, like chia seeds.

The nutritional qualities of flax seeds mean that the plant is used orally as well as in cosmetic products. It is also possible to make homemade flax gel by placing a few grams of flax in a pot of boiling water. This can be used on both skin and hair. Please note, homemade cosmetics must be used with caution.

Flaxseeds can also make delicious sprouted seeds, which can be used in many recipes. To do this, soak the seeds for 12 hours in cold water, then put them on a plate, covering them with moistened cotton (since they are seeds with mucilage). They will then germinate within 10 days.
